With Goodyear's poor performance this season, they seem to be under a radar, especially with drivers such as Tony Stewart. The race at the Brickyard was an absolute disgrace. The longest green flag run was 13 laps, because the tires constantly blew out. So should NASCAR head in a new direction with possibly Hoosier, Michelin, or Bridestone? www.nascar.com/2008/news/headlines/cup/07/27/brickyard.tires.saga/1.html

And fast! Having tires blow out every 13 laps defeats the purpose of the car of tomorrow, eh? Still unsafe.

And fast! Having tires blow out every 13 laps defeats the purpose of the car of tomorrow, eh? Still unsafe. It's not the safety of the races it's jeopardizing though, it's the excitement. The cars they race in are incredibly safe, almost too safe. It's the fact that the fans are having to watch the second greatest race of the year in thirteen lap spirts, instead of one big race. The drivers couldn't even drive at full speed without risking a blow. It was horrible.
