sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3375306 This team is a mess. And unfortunately he gets the blame. Hes not the one that brought in Jason Kidd, who they started 0-10 with teams in the West .500 or over. But hes gone, and this team has to make our decisions. Thoughts on this? They go from the NBA finals two years ago, a 1 seed last year and lost, and a loss in the first round this year. Mark Cuban is not a very happy guy right now.

If anyone deserves to be fired, it's Cuban. However, that will not happen in this decade.
Avery didn't deserve to be fired at all, especially in a year that produced 8 amazingly strong teams in the West.

Mark Cuban is good for both the Mavericks and the NBA as well as the sports world in general. I'd love to have an enthusiastic owner who wants to win more than turn a profit. That is very rare, and even those who say they want to win would rather lose if the $$ saved on salaries was greater than the playoff ticket sales and merchandise.
That said, Avery shouldn't have gone. Great coach, and I only pray the Knicks grab him.
