It's a broken question, but would you take Tiger or the field in the upcoming Masters?
I don't think I could take the field, but I don't think Tiger will run away. In the WGC Championship, the guys to finish ahead of Tiger were Geoff Ogilvy, Furyk, Goosen, and Vijay; all guy who have proven in the past to be capable of being competitive in the Masters.

I'll take Tiger overwhelmingly. He has proven to be the one of the greatest golfers ever and is in his prime right now. I wouldn't put it past him to win everything this year.

Golf is unpredictable. It's such a difficult game to consistently dominate at the highest level. While Tiger is the closest they get to domination, him winning isn't a forgone conlusion. If you said, for instance, Tiger or Vijay Singh, I'd take Tiger. Tiger or the field is too general. The field has just as good a chance, Tiger is merely the favorite.

The problem is, there are certainly guys who you can rule out ahead of time. What Tiger has done over the past few years has gone beyond "favorite" and gone more to "if he messes up, someone else has a chance."
Obviously I agree that anyone can win, but if you're asked to put a wager on Tiger or anyone else, what would you do?

I'll start watching a little bit tomorrow. Tiger should be the last tee time right?

Close to the last tee time... www.masters.org/en_US/scores/groupings/round4.html6 shots back is a mighty task. He needs to count on getting 3 on his own4 and just hope that the other guys fall back. Too bad the leaderboard is so small. It could still be interesting but I highly doubt the guys at the top are going to collapse.

Tiger has never won a major when he's trailed going into the final day so things certainly don't look good.
He has gotten better each round so far but it'll be tough to make up those six shots and hope, as you said, the guys at the top collapse.
But hey, you never know.
