These two contested the Wimbledon final earlier this month, with Federer coming out on top. Nothing unusual there it would appear. But Nadal ran him a lot closer than usual on grass, losing in the full five sets.
Now, Nadal is younger than Federer, and he's proved that he can beat Roger on clay and almost match him on grass. All he needs to do is work on his hard court game and he'll be a match for Federer in all respects. The question is, can he improve sufficiently to beat Federer at the US or Australian opens? Can he dethrown Federer from Wimbledon? And, if so, how long will this take him?
My view is that Federer will end his career having won more slams than anyone. I also believe he'll win more than 7 Wimbeldon titles (he has 5 already). It must be said though, Nadal looks like a real threat. This could span out over the years as one of the greatest rivalries in the game, and I for one am really looking forward to see how it pans out.

I was thinking about Nadal, and how he would be the dominant player if Federer had been born a few years later.
He can absolutely improve and overtake Roger at the US, Australian, and yes, Wimbledon. I'll make the argument that had his knee not have gotten tweaked, he might have pulled it out in five. How long will it take? It can happen any year now. Federer has shown that he's human and can lose on grass, as Nadal has shown he can lose on caly.
