Greg Rusedski announced yesterday that he has retired from professional tennis. The 33 year old reached the final of the 1997 US Open where he lost to Pat Rafter and served Great Britain's Davis Cup team for 12 years. He reached number 4 in the world at his peak and at one point held the record for the world's fastest serve - 149m.p.h., until that mark was overtaken by Andy Roddick. To be honest I felt for him a bit, because with the serve he had on him he perhaps should have won a slam. He was also in the shadow of Tim Henman in the British press for so long, but it's important to note that he has won 15 tour titles to Henman's 12. Would just like to wish Greg well for his retirement as he was a great servant to British tennis.
