Spring training is upon us. The Avs are among the worst teams in the league. And Alex Rodriguez is possibly the most legitimate player to break the home run record since Barry Bonds. Barry Bonds is the home run champion. These are just a few my favorite things that have occurred in the sports world since the TS "hiatus". ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- But, on to the real topic of the thread. In the spirit of Clint Eastwood: BANG! Who's going to win the World Series? My answer: The Chicago Cubs. The Billy Goat is dead, and Lou is angry after that cheap flop to the Dodgers. Anyone else's picks? EDIT: That's right, legitimate

Obviously i hope for a Phillies repeat and to be honest if Hamels stays healthy i don't see any reason they shouldn't.

I don't know. It seems like teams want to win this year.
The Mets got K-Rod. Yankees got Sabathia. And they're both in new stadiums.
I know that "buying one's way to a championship" doesn't usually work, but these teams are going to be hard to hold off.

I like the Angels this year. They improved their hitting tremendously.

Yea the angles aren't going to do much they lost K-Rod as well don't forget, they won't win as many of those close games.

Texeira is the 2nd best 1st baseman in baseball by a wide margin.. and Abreu is overrated, which is why he got a one year deal. Teams are finally paying attention!

I'll take Pujols, Gonzalez, or Youkilis over Texeira any day. And probably a few others too. I once thought Abreu overrated too, but after seeing him play some more... I no longer think so.
