Supposedly he has booked a plane ticket to go to Green Bay tonight, and likely step onto the practice field tomorrow. Think he's moved before I wake up tomorrow? I do.

To offer a player 20 million to stay retired is ridiculous and shows how dumb this whole situation is.
The Packers owe him nothing and I'm hope they let him sit as the backup for the entire season. The stupidest thing they could do is trade him to an NFC North team, by the way. Why let him have his way?

I take it GEO isn't a Brett Favre fan.
The Packers have handled this situation HORRIBLY. The second Brett Favre said he wants to play, Ted Thompson should have arranged a meeting with him. He should have sat Brett down and told him that the Packers have moved on. Moved on to the era of Aaron Rodgers, Brian Brohm, etc. Then he should have asked Brett what he wants to do. If Brett says he still wants to play, then work together to find a team to trade him to outside of the division. If he handles it like that, I doubt Brett feels ANY bad blood at all and agrees to go somewhere other than the Vikings or Bears.
Why make him the backup? $12 Million next year, and you'll have your backup outplaying your starter in practice every day. It will tear the team apart and not go well.
The Pack have stuck themselves in a corner here.ß

I saw he didn't go to practice yesterday or the day before, sorry I have a terrible memory, sometimes. Mike McCarthy said I believe in Training Camp, that Aaron Rogers is their guy. Now, if Brett comes back, is Brett going to be their guy still?

10 Year/ 25 Million to stay retired. Are you kidding me? This is sooo stupid. All he wants to do is start for the Packers, or play against the Packers within the division. I dont think he will get either of those, so i think hes gonna take this stupid offer.

Well Goodell gives Brett the green light, and Farve will be in camp at 1:00 Eastern tomorrow. But the biggest news is that Packers President Matt Murphy has a plan to use Favre when he comes back, and sources say that it is an OPEN QUARTERBACK COMPETITION, meaning that Brett will compete with Rodgers to be the QB for the Pack! But these are just sources, doesn't mean crap until we found out tomorrow. If this turns out to be true, it will be an Ironic end to a very messy situation. However, it would be very funny if Rodgers beats Brett for the starting spot. sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3517219

That said, they can easily rig it based on who plays with who, who runs what plays, etc. I wonder if Brett will be traded by Tuesday..

Granted, I'm not the biggest Football guru here, but I think I'd still like to throw my two cents out there.
First of all I should mention that I'm so sick of this guy, and If I'm Aaron Rodgers, there's no way I sign with the Packers again next season for getting screwed over 4 years in a row. As much as I think the Packers handled the situation horribly, I believe they were put in a very difficult spot. Finally for once it seems like he's retiring, and he comes back. Not that it hasn't happened before, but out of all the times it has happened, it really felt like this would be the time.
Retiring from playing football is probably something you have to sit down with your family and talk about, because you don't screw over an up and coming QB, for 4 years. Obviously Brett hasn't done that. And whether that's the problem, or he simply wants to be in the spotlight is beyond me, but so far this has been more annoying than the whole Barry Bonds thing. Now they are going to have an open QB competition? Gee, I wonder who's gonna win that.
I honestly don't know who's side to take, because this whole story has annoyed me to know end. If I'm the Packers, I guess I want him back because we have the best chance to win the Superbowl with him THIS YEAR, yet I don't want to risk the FUTURE by stunting the growth of Aaron Rodgers.

Looks like the Bucs are the leaders to land Brett, but the Jets still have a solid shot at getting him. Im guessing a deal will be done no later than Friday. I will try to get an update if anything happens.

Thats good for the Jets and the Packers, although I doubt the Packers will be going very far with Aaron Rogers. The Jets should be happy they got a good QB.
