This is a two parter:
In sports, there's typically a home field advantage. Whether it's college football, basketball, or even baseball, playing on the home turf makes it easier. Ohio State going into Michigan is insane. Duke playing UNC at Chapel Hill is deafening. So, which is the best? The crowd is always a factor, but what team (pro or college) has the biggest advantage? Is it tougher playing in Seattle against the Seahawks or against a yellow crowd of terrible towls in Pittsburgh? Is it scarier for a blue devil to walk into Chapel Hill or for a Buckeye to face Michigan at season's end?
Also, if you're a Kevin Durant or a JaMarcus Russell, where do you want to go? What's your most desired place to play? Not based on your childhood favorite team or anything like that, but soley based on the city. Is New York the ultimate place to earn your spotlight? Or is there another city that's ideal for an athlete?
Discuss..

The biggest advantage goes to Duke. The "Crazies" are up all game and besides last year, statisitcs show that Duke always does well on home court. If you're a young point guard bringing up the ball, can you really concentrate on the play?
And If I'm Kevin Durant, I wouldn't mind going to a sports town. Definitely the East Coast because that's where the coverage is. Maybe a Boston or yeah, a New York.
If I'm Russell, I wouldn't mind going to Philadelphia. Kick McNabb out, and I'd be a hero in Philly if I could deliver a Superbowl.

In Boston, for the Redsox games, the Redsox have the biggest home field advantage of any team in sports. 1 pro baseball, or baseball for that manner has the biggest home field advantage more than any other sport just for the fact of batting last. So the winner will automatically come from baseball. Iw oud say the Red sox have the toughest and most brutal fan. They give there heart to every pitch.
If i were Jamarcus Russel I would want to go to the Eagles and be Donovan McNabbs apprentice. If i were Durant I would want to be a Maverick. To win a championship from his home town

1. I said 2. If basketball boasts the toughest home field (or court) advantage for the other team, then why isn't it the answer? Why did you choose a baseball field?

First of all, the second part of the question is supposed to be generic. I'm not saying where Russell or Durant would want to go, I'm asking if you were a upper echelon college player, where do yo want to go solely based on the city (location, reputation, fans, etc.). This topic is about the city, not the player.
GEO- I agree the Dukies are crazy fans. But isn't it just the same when they come to Chapel hill? Is that home field advantage more about the rivalry or is it just as intimidating all season? Also, why not baseball? Why not football?
Adamhasa- Prove yourself. Don't just say GEO's 'trash' and wrong. Prove him wrong. Where's your argument? Any answer may be baseball hands down, but why? Also, each game means much more in college basketball than they do in baseball. Does this play into the home field advantage? Do Sox fans calm down once their season is over or the playoffs are a lock?

Why not baseball? Why not football? Because I said basketball. It's a smaller environment. And to be blunt, I don't feel like baseball fans are as passionate as college basektball fans. When you have drunk college kids in a small building, it's bound to envoke more passion than a typical baseball game.
And sure, Chapel Hill can get pretty loud and intimidating, but do they have a bunch of crazy kids jumping up and down.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Basketball because you said basketball? That's a good reason Just wanted to point out- a majority of college tickets are free/cheap to students. In pro baseball, it can be quite costly to support a team game in and game out. But still, stadiums are packed. Baseball fans dish out the cash.. that should mean something. Also, UNC fans jump up and down sometimes lol. Dukies are just.. more willing to look stupid

It just means that college basektball games are usually always packed and MLB games usually have tons of empty seats. It means nothing except that baseball fans usually have jobs And yeah, stupidity=funny and crazy. Just ask those nude guys at soccer games.
