Looking at it from the surface I think it's perfectly fair that women should get the same prize money as men, and it's now the French Open is the only Grand Slam event where men are paid more than women.
One difference for me though is that men play longer format matches, playing best of 5 sets as opposed to the best of 3 format in the womens game. Longer matches means more entertainment, and to be perfectly honest men's matches tend to draw in the crowds more than womens. I don't have a problem with it at all though.

I have a problem with it. There should be equal pay for equal work. Require the women to win 3 sets to take a match, or shorten the men's matches to 3 sets, then I would not object.
Somebody look up the stats, but it seems a top woman can probably win more money than a top man, because the short matches would allow her to devote more energy for the doubles and mixed doubles competitions.
