Leap

It's February 28th! The last day of February! How awesome is that? We're about to enter March Madness, NBA and NHL playoff runs, and MLB trade talks. Good month eh? But every four years, a leap year occurs in which we include February 29th on our calendar's. This is the theme of this months Talker, or lack there of.

We are "leaping" over what should have the Version 2.0 of The Talker. The first mistake was my mistake. I forgot to talk to NYI about helping out with a cover, until it was to late to get it done. But I knew it wouldn't be a big deal. I waited and waited for articles. About a week ago, mass PMs and Emails were both sent out, asking for articles. I'd like to thank ckwatt for getting in his member interview and filling in my interview in a short amount of time.

There was tons to write about. Olympics, NBA All-Star Game, X-Games, a movie, a television show, a rant, a joke, a riddle, anything! I literally said "Do whatever you want." I was even expecting multiple articles! I logged in on February 25th and checked my PM box. I was cutting it close. Three days to do the editing. Nothing was there. I looked, looked, and looked again. Nothing. Well, nothing but a PM from BlackOps telling me why he couldn't write. He had school! So what did I say? Of course, school comes first. I know that BlackOps is a great poster and Head Referee and if he had time, would write a few articles. But school always comes first. Personally, school has been cutting down on my posting time, so I understood. But I saw people on everyday who were posting, but didn't send me an article.

Each month for The Talker, I'd rather you take a day off posting and write one or two articles, then make 100 posts a week and not write anything. We're obviously lacking members. The staff has set up various competitions, and we need these competitions to work. I want this to work! I even got graphics made up. (Only for the staff. If you're a member and would like one, contact me by PM)

In a few final thoughts:

1. If you feel you owe anything at all to this board, the best part to make up for not writing an article would to take part in our recruitment competition that starts tomorrow. We need members, and hopefully, this will help us get them. There are great prizes, so check out the top board in this category.

2. As long as we have The Talker as a board, when it is not published, a member of the month is not announced either.

3. If I don't see any improvement in articles for the March edition, then The Talker will be closed down.

4. For the March edition, I'm asking everyone to write two or three articles. There is tons to do it on. It doesn't even have to be sports related! It can be board related, school related, world related, anything!

5. Post, post, post. We're closing in on 1000 OH! We hit 100,000 page views! Go us!
