I agree with Rage. I am also a fan of him. I was told he had a terrible arm, but after picking off that one guy (I forget who) in that one game, I think that that might not be the case. Chris Coste seems like he's getting too old anymore.

The Eagles did a great job in terms of managing their picks.

With two first round picks, they trade their 28th to the Bills for a pro bowl tackle. There still question marks with him, but he will help out Shawn Andrews and hes good great upside and good value for him.

Then they move up two spots, only giving up their 6th round pick for Maclin. Maclin is a great value pick at number 19, but im not sure if hes the receiver the birds need. He is almost identical to Desean Jackson, a guy that is very explosive who will give you 2 or 3 big plays a game, but is not really physical or a possession receiver that plays great for the whole game. The Birds need a possession receiver who moves the chains constantly and can catch the ball anywhere thrown to him. But Maclin is worth the pick at 19 considering he was projected at number 7 or 8.

And Lesean Mccoy in the second round is not bad. He is the best catching RB in the draft, and thats what the birds offense is based on with B-West.

Factor in also that we got former Pats CB Ellis Hobbs, who is solid and can replace Disgruntled CB Sheldon Brown if needed, TE Ingram from Florida, Jason Peters, a total of 8 players drafted and we have 9 picks for 2010, it was overall a solid draft by the birds.

I do have to say, Go Eagles!

The Eagles have drafted Jeremy Maclin @ #19 (involved trading up from #21) in Round 1, and they got LeSean McCoy in Round 2 @ 53 overall.

The first year in recent years that we have not started the draft with a OT or DE, and the first time in the last 3 years that we have not traded out of the 1st round.

    Go us.

     2009 NFL Draft
    « Result #10 on Apr 25, 2009, 11:30am »

It kicks off at 4:00 with the Lions on the clock. 10 minutes a pick in the first round, 5 minutes for the second, and i believe 3 or 4 minutes the rest of the way.

The Draft is on ESPN with the 1st round and ESPN2 with the second round. I believe NFL Network is airing the draft this year as well.

I would love to do my annual up to the minute draft updates, but i am very busy and cant. :(

But here is what i got for now:
*The Lions will take Matthew Stafford QB Georgia with the first pick. The deal is in place 6 years/ $41.7 Million Guaranteed, could reach $78 Million in the future depending on the number of snaps and if he makes the the pro bowl. Matt Ryan last year got 36 Million in guarenteed money. This is crap. Stafford is getting 7 million a year for just being draft. NFL needs a rookie cap ASAP.

*NYI might want to listen to this: According to the NFL Network, a team source has said that if the player the Jets want is still on the board at #8, the Jets and Jaguars have a deal in place to swap their picks. The player that the Jets want is most likely either Micheal Crabtree or Mark Sanchez. So NYI you better cross your fingers that the Seahawks don't trade their pick or draft Sanchez, and that the Browns and Raiders pass on Crabtree. ;)

    * As far as my team with the Eagles, Sheldon Brown is not happy with his deal and the Eagles are standing firm saying they will not redo his deal, which i agree with. He only had 1 pick last year, and that came the last game of the regular season. Yes he is a good player, but i feel hes paid fine with 3 more years to go. So, there are reports that the Eagles are interested in Cornerback Vontae Davis from Illinois. So, most likely its either him, Knowshon Moreno from Georgia or RB Donald Brown from UConn.

The Eagles and Ravens seem to be the teams still in the running for Anquan Boldin, with the Cards reportedly asking for a 2nd and a 5th rounder. Well see what happens.

thats the coverage. Feel free to post anything here. Have fun and enjoy the draft.
